This is my first post on the new blog with an actual item in it! This adult afghan is from an old pattern of my grandmother, Prudie Souder. She died in 1995 and I miss her every day. One of the neat things about this pattern is she had written her name at the top -- I love those little things like: Granny's handwriting that I get to see every time I make this afghan.
This particular one was created in my daughter's high school colors. Carly is a senior this year, and I'm donating this afghan toward the Senior Celebration fund raiser. You can see that I used maroon/white/gray for our school colors, but of course it can be made in any combination of colors. I'm experimenting right now with a new set and I'm loving the way it's coming out!
Some of the photos show the maroon looking a bit "brick red". That's due to the lighting. It's a very true maroon shade and I'm quite happy with it. I'd consider this medium-sized adult measuring 65x40.
You can also find this item in my
Etsy shop. So pretty!
